Hurriyat (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Friday strongly denounced the government for the continuous imposition of curfew, restrictions and curbs for the 35th consecutive day and barring Friday congregational prayers for the 5th consecutive week at the historic Jamia Masjid, Srinagar and all the other places, stopping lakhs of people from offering Friday prayers and not allowing him as well to perform his religious duties by using force and intimidation. Mirwaiz said it is a blatant interference in our religious affairs.Stressing that for a month and five days, the government had turned the lives of Kashmiris into hell by imposing curfew and restrictions, stopping mobile phone, internet and other communication services, Hurriyat (M) Chairman, while terming this decision as unjust and undemocratic condemned it saying this was done with a view to punish people of Kashmir for their unflinching support to the freedom struggle of Kashmir.

Hurriyat (M) Chairman, who continues to remain under house arrest for the past 35 days, in a statement issued to the press said Authorities have imposed Martial Law in entire Kashmir to suppress the just rights of the people and every tactic in the book id being adopted by the govt to crush the ongoing uprising but the passion of freedom-loving people continues to remain insurmountable and their struggle remains undefeatable.

He said for crushing the resistance movement and the just struggle of the people, Government was trying such brutal tactics which are unheard of in the emancipated world.Stating that with their peaceful struggle, Kashmiris were trying to send a message to the international community and the people of India that they will not be cowed down by repressive measures and its time that Kashmir dispute be addressed once and for all which will not only be beneficial to the people of Kashmir, but also for the people of India and Pakistan as well. Mirwaiz said keeping the issue unresolved was wrought with dangerous consequences for the entire South Asian region.Mirwaiz also strongly condemned the incident which led to the death of a woman from Bemina after being threatened government forces.

Mirwaiz appealed to the people to make the joint Resistance programmes a success.Meanwhile, Hurriyat (M) spokesman condemned the continued house arrest of the APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, detention of senior Hurriyat leader Moulana Masroor Abbas Ansari at Safa Kadal Police Station, house arrests of Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, Advocate Shahid-ul-Islam and Javed Ahmad Mir and other resistance leaders and workers and said this was acceptance of defeat on part of the government and administration and said such tactics would not be able to break the will of the resistance leaders.The spokesman appealed, the youth to be weary of such elements who are in garb of being pro movement are attacking journalists and medicos while they are performing their professional duties.
