Jammu Kashmir National Front Chairman, and Hurriyat leader, Nayeem Ahmad Khan today strongly condemned the attacking of peaceful protesters at Singhpora and Yattipora in Pattan area by police and forces. He said that even women were beaten to pulp and injured seriously which only exhibits the highhandedness of New Delhi and its local agents who are hell bent to harm Kashmiri people because they demand their political rights. In a statement issued to KNS, Nayeem Ahmad Khan said that police and Indian forces have unleashed a reign of terror in the whole valley so as to crush the ongoing freedom movement. He expressed concern over the activities of some police officers who are trying to prove themselves “more loyal than the king” by killing and injuring their own brethren. “Police men must understand this simple fact that Kashmiri people are fighting for their freedom as well so they must not target their own brethren rather they should help them in one or the other way,” Nayeem Ahmad Khan said. He added that it becomes more painful when local policemen attack unarmed protesters.Nayeem Ahmad Khan said attacking unarmed protesters with lathis, tear gas, pellets and bullets police and Indian forces in fact use fuel on fire. “New Delhi should understand that Kashmiris do not fight for any packages or worldly benefits but complete freedom from India.

“Indian PM’s approach towards Kashmir dispute is unacceptable,” Nayeem Ahmad Khan said. He added that Indian PM must understand the ground realities of Kashmir where a mass movement is going on against the illegal occupation of India. He completely rejected Modi’s assertion over Kashmir. “We are not a handful but majority of the state demand for its political rights promised to them at international levels many time,” he said.Nayeem Ahmad Khan strongly condemned the lockdown of the valley at the hands of police and occupied forces which has created a situation where even ill and old persons are not allowed to move out of their houses. He strongly condemned the damaging of residential houses at the hands of the men in uniform.Meanwhile, Nayeem Ahmad Khan expressed deep sorrow and grief over the passing away of noted Islamic Scholar Alama Mohammad Ashraf Andrabi. “By the sad demise of Alama Ashraf Andrabi, we have lost a true scholar,” he said. He added that Alama Ashraf Andrabi was not only an affectionate teacher but also a well wisher of the freedom movement. “Kashmiris have lost a great supporter of freedom movement who believed in idealism and humanity,” Nayeem Ahmad Khan said. Expressing solidarity with the bereaved family, Nayeem Ahmad Khan said that whole nation is bereaved on the demise of Alama Ashraf Andrabi. He prayed for his forgiveness and a better alternative of him. (KNS)
