Women on Tuesday staged sit-in protest in Kupwara against the civilian killings in Kashmir.According to KNS correspondent Wasim Majnoon Mir, women across the Kupwara district today staged a sit-in to protest against the Kashmir killings. Protesters said that the government is using pellet guns on innocent Kashmiris, which is inhuman. People mostly youth, Women took out two major protest rallies from Kupwara town, Vudhpora, Lalpora Lolab and other areas of this frontier district Kupwara.Kashmir is on boil since July 9 after the killing of Hizb commander Burhan Wani by forces on July 8. More than 50 people have been killed while thousands wounded in protests that erupted after the killing of Wani.Residents of several localities of kupwara including Malik Mohalla, Jamia Qadeem Mir Mohalla, Regipora, Darzipora of Kupwara Town, Trehgam, Kralpora, Lalpora, Kalaroos and other areas alleged that Government forces ransacked residential houses and damaged the windowpanes.Meanwhile, last night candlelight protest was taken out after Magrib Prayers and prayer on roads, the youth also amid Pro-Freedom and anti Indian Sloganeering in Mir Mohalla, Jamia Qadeem, Regipora, Main Chowk of Kupwara Town and some other areas of this district.
