North Zone CBSE Hand ball championship is being organized at Gian Jyoti Public School, Phase -2, Mohali. This event will continue for three consecutive days.More than 50 teams from the states of Chandigarh, Punjab , Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Delhi have registered themselves to participate in this championship. Honble S. Maheshinder Singh Grewal (Advisor to CM Punjab) adorned the chair of Chief Guest. The Chief Guest was given worm welcome by the Principal of the School Mrs Ranjeet Bedi and members of the school management committee. The day started with very melodious serene shabad “ Aao Sajna, Hau Dekha’n Drashan Tera Raam” The entire atmosphere will filled with pious words of the shabad.After the flag hosting ceremony all the participants from the state of Chandigarh, Punjab , Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Delhi participated in March Past. An investiture ceremony was performed in which the participating teams took oath to follow the rules and regulations of the championship.The Chief Gust Honourable S. Maheshinder Singh Grewal, Advisor to CM Punjab declared the meet open . Cultural extravaganza comprising of different dances including the famous “Chak de India” and Punjabi folk songs Baajre da Sitta, Charkha mera chanan da” were presented at the opening of the championship. The Chief guest in his during the speech stressed the need of sports in the busy and stressful life. He congratulated the participating teams for taking part in the competition and the school for shouldering the responsibility of organizing this championship. The Chief Guest was also introduced to the teams before start of the match.The chairman of the school Sh. J.S. Bedi expressed his gratitude towards the Chief guest for spearing his valuable time and for motivating the young players of the North Zone. He also praised and thanked the honourable guest, the people from the Media for taking this news to the masses.
