The relationship between NDA allies BJP and AJSU has taken a further beating after former Jharkhand Deputy Chief Minister and AJSU supremo Sudesh Mahto accused the state government of creating unrest among the people over the domicile and land acts. The All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU) on Monday launched the Jan ki Baat in Jharkhand to garner people's support and their views over different issues related to state government decisions.Sudesh Mahto said three decisions of the state government, including the domicile policy which has been announced, job reservations provisions and changes proposed in the Chhota Nagpur Tenancy Act, 1908 (CNT), and Santhal Pargana Tenancy (SPT) Acts have once again flared tempers in the state."These three decisions are against the wishes of the people.

To make the government listen to the people, the party has launched a 'Jan Ki Baat' programme under which 5 lakh post cards would be sent to the government," Mahto said, adding that the programme would be carried out in a phased manner. Party workers would be visiting more than 5,000 villages which have a population of 1,000 and above. He said his party represents a separate line of struggle despite being part of the coalition. He said that all the three policies are against the adivasis, moolvasis, Dalits, backwards and the youth. He said the proposed changes in the CNT and SPT Acts pose a threat to the existence of tribals in the state. In a warning to the government, he said his party would not be afraid of once again hitting the roads against its own government.During the recently concluded Monsoon Session of the Jharkhand Assembly, the party had cornered the government over these key issues. Party MLAs had also staged dharna protest outside the Vidhan Sabha.
