Vigilance Bureau Nabs 10 Officers During July

Fresh Inquiries Initiated In 15 Other Cases

The Vigilance Bureau has intensified its campaign in the month of July to put a check on the corruption and to nab the government officers indulged in such corrupt activities. During the month long campaign, the Bureau has been able to nabbed 10 officers of different departments’ red handed while accepting bribe. All these apprehended officers were booked under different provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.

Disclosing this official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said that during the month of July besides nabbing 10 officers the Bureau has also registered 15 fresh inquires in other corruption cases. He said that apart from all these activities, the Bureau registered two criminal cases.

The spokesperson further said that pending Vigilance inquires in 8 separate case were also completed and subsequently challans were submitted in Hon’ble courts. He said that the courts while the hearing of cases filed by Vigilance Bureau has pronounce sentence to the accused in one case.He said that in most of these cases the sleuths of Vigilance Bureau laid trap accompanying with government witnesses and the accused were nabbed red handed while accepting the bribe money from the complainants. He said that in each of the case after apprehending the accused case under section 7 and 13 (2) of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 were registered.
