MLA Sopore & JKPCC Vice President Haji Abdul Rashid Dar blamed security forces for use of excessive force on people in his constituency Sopore and elsewhere in valley yesterday resulting in injuries to more than hundreds of people in Sopore alone and hundreds others elsewhere in the Valley.Expressing concern over the failure of the State Govt to exercise restraint on the part of Security forces, he said security forces are willfully using excessive force on the people to make them (people) understand that there is no one who can stop them from brutalizing them (people), he said the killing and injuring people by forces cannot be tolerated, he warned of serious consequences, if this barbarism is not stopped immediately.
Demanding that use of Pellet Gun must be banned, he said dozens of people were left blind, besides injuring thousands across the valley, he (Haji Rashid) asked the Govt and the authorities dealing with Law and order to immediately ban use of pellet gun thereby ensuring that no more people loose eye sight. He said PDP led Govt has miserably failed to ensure safety of innocent people and seems to be in no hurry to stop the killings in the valley, he added.PCC Vice President urged upon the Centre and State Govt to make serious efforts to put an end to current unrest and reach out to the people in order to find solution to this vexed problem.
