Peoples will and desire for freedom can never be suppressed by military or police might. Bringing army to suppress Kashmiri protest is a non-issue as army is already subjugating people of Kashmir everywhere .If India and its stooges believe in some kind of democracy, they should find some courage and allow Kashmiris to demonstrate their collective will and democratic right to protest. In a statement issued to KNS, chairman Jammu Kashmir liberation front (JKLF) Muhammad Yasin Malik said that the ongoing peaceful people’s revolution is a referendum through which people of Jammu Kashmir from high mountains of Poonch to Gool GulabGarh and Rambhan, Banihal ,Doda, Kishtwar , Baderwah to Uri and Teetwal are raising their voice for a free Kashmir. He said that peaceful struggle against illegal occupation is the birth right of every nation and Kashmiris are too resisting illegal occupation and rendering sacrifices for their freedom. He said that denying truth and reality and living in self-deceit has been a long ploy of Indian leaders and today when overwhelming majority of Kashmiris are demanding freedom India, Indian leaders and their Kashmiri stooges remain wedded to their self-deceit policy and continued state of denial about Jammu Kashmir .

Yasin Malik said that after brutalizing more than 55 innocents and injuring more than 6000 Kashmiris among whom many have been paralyzed for life, instead of recognizing the gravity of the situation trying to take positive steps for addressing Kashmir issue, Kashmiris are being frightened that army will be brought in to suppress their protest. How does this matter for a nation that has been facing the wrath of army and other forces from 1947 and who have sacrificed more than one hundred thousand people from 1988 for their freedom, asked Yasin Malik. He said that peoples will and desire for freedom can never be suppressed by military might or police force. How can Indians claim that army is not present in Kashmir as during the present phase of protests more than three people including a women fell to the bullets of army men at Qazigund? Asked Yasin Malik. He said that in Kupwara, Handwara, Islamabad, Bandipora, Baramullah and Qazigund army has been subjecting people to worst oppression and recently Bijibihara villages like Kanalwan, Aaswoora and Banderpora also witnessed the wrath of army during protests. Yasin Malik said that instead of using iron fist against peaceful protests for freedom that will only yield shame and failure to the tyrants, Indian leaders and their Kashmiri stooges need to shun their state of denial approach, acknowledge the necessity of resolving Jammu Kashmir dispute according to peoples wish and take positive steps to address this long pending international dispute.

Yasin Malik said that oppression, suppression, tyranny and military might cannot deter Kashmiris from perusing the path of resistance as history bears a witness to the fact that no freedom struggle till date has surrendered or has been defeated by military or police might. While condemning the ongoing oppression against people in every nook and corner of Kashmir, Yasin Malik said that on daily basis hundreds are being injured by pellets and bullets and no one is spared by police and forces. Condemning the use of brutal force against people Yasin Malik said that today people at Gangbugh tried to hold a funeral in absentia for recent martyrs but were showered lathes and pellets injuring many. Same has been going on in whole of south Kashmir including Islamabad, Pulwama, Kulgam and Bijebiraha where motorbikes, vehicles and scooters are being torched by Indian forces and vandalizing residential houses has become the order of the day. While condemning the ban on Friday prayers in Jamia masjid Srinagar, Jamia masjid Ompora Budgam and many more Masajid, JKLF chairman termed it as an interference in religious affairs of Kashmiri Muslims.

People from Batamaloo and adjacent areas in large numbers gathered near court complex Batamaloo today and offered Asr, prayers on the main road as a mark of protest. JKLF vice chairman Mushtaq Ajmal also participated in the protest along with other people. This protest was held according to the program given by the joint resistance leadership and a large number of people participated in the protest .women in large numbers also participated and raised slogans against oppression and killings. This exemplary protest ended peacefully. Same kind of protests have been registered at various places of Srinagar, Islamabad, Kulgam, Budgam ,Palhalan Pattan and other parts of north Kashmir today in which JKLF activists also participated .Meanwhile the mother of a JKLF senior member Shamim Ahmad passed away last evening. She was ill from many days and breathed her last evening. Many JKLF leaders including vice chairmen Bashir Ahmad Butt, Showkat Ahmad Bakhshi, secretary general Ghlam Rasool Dar Eidi, zonal president Noor Muhammad Kalwal, vice zonal president Muhammad Sideeq shah, senior leader Javed Ahmad Zargar and many more participated in her funeral prayers and expressed condolences to the bereaved family. JKLF incarcerated Chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik has also expressed sorrow over her demise and prayed for her heavenly abode. (KNS)
