Congress today termed the current unrest as dangerous, besides a great loss to the people in Kashmir, in particular and the entire State of J&K in general. The party while expressing distress has said that in order to end the crisis, State Govt and Centre Govt should move with a great sense of responsibility to end the current unrest.Describing the deteriorating situation as dangerous and as a great loss to the state, JKPCC Chief G. A. Mir stated that Centre Govt and State Govt should move ahead with a great sense of responsibility and make serious efforts to reach out to the people,Emphasizing the need to adopt a holistic approach in ending the unrest, PCC Chief asked both Centre and State Governments to make serious efforts to bring back normalcy, besides avoiding use of force or bullets on the people, as that will only instill a sense of security among the people in valley, he said.He said Congress Party shall continue to work for prevalence of peace, besides safety and security of the people, but at the same the Party strongly condemns the innocent killings and urges the both State and Centre Govt to ensure safety of common innocent people.

Terming the killing of Chattabal youth as highly condemnable, G.A. Mir said that PDP led Govt is not even able to stop the innocent killings, such type of unfortunate incident reflects the inability and inefficiency of the Coalition Govt to handle the crisis. He said incidents like killings or injuring people without any provocation give rise to the anger among the people, besides making it difficult almost impossible to restore peace.Innocent killing cannot be tolerated, this is unfortunate that State Govt is still in a moribund condition not able to stop innocent killings, which is a matter of serious concern, PCC Chief added.Calling for calm, PCC Chief appealed the people to maintain peace and avoid confrontation with security forces. He also strongly urged upon the authorities dealing with law and order to exercise restraint and avoid use of pellets or any other lethal weapon on the protestors as the pellets have already inflicted heavy losses to hundreds of people, so the use of Pellets must be banned very immediately, he added.
