On the call of Anjuman-e-Isalamia, Muslim community Wednesday observed a complete shutdown in  Bhaderwah town against the Kashmir killings. The call for shutdown was also given against the local police for allegedly acting as ‘yes-men’ of RSS.Eyewitnesses told CNS that all the shops, business establishments and private educational institutions belonging to Muslim community remained shut while skeletal movement of traffic was found on the roads. However, reports said that government schools, offices and banks are functioned normally. The shutdown call was given by Anjuman-e-Isalamia Bhaderwah in support of Kashmiri people and also to lodge its strong protest against state government for "miserably failing to safeguard the human rights of a common man in valley."Anjuman Islamia Bhadarwah President Pervaiz Ahmed Sheikh told news agency CNS that Kashmir has been witnessing worst kind of human rights violations. “More than 50 people have been killed there and still the government is unable to control the unbridled forces. What government will get by killing innocent civilians? The common man in Kashmir is being held as hostage since last 25 days, this is the worst kind of human rights violation, we have ever seen," he said.

He added that the strike called had been also given against the anti-Muslim attitude of police in the town. “We are peace loving community but the approach of police is totally anti-Muslim. SHO Bhadarwah seems to be in hand in glove with RSS leaders that is very unfortunate. This SHO is targeting innocent Muslims and we demand immediate transfer of this officer,” he said.A respectable citizen from the town accused Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti of double standard and said that in power she probably forgot the ground reality. “When Mehbooba was in opposition she used raise her voice for us but ever since she assumed the chair, she is acting as a mute spectator and has left us on the mercy of these RSS backed police goons,” he said wishing not to be named.
