The Punjab Deputy Chief Minister, S. Sukhbir Singh Badal today thundered that he accepts and welcomes the challenge of Congress leader Manpreet Singh Badal to contest against him from jalalabad constituency as it would further make the picture clear that SAD-BJP alliance rules the hearts and minds of people owing to massive wave of development centric projects during past 9 years.Interacting with the mediapersons during first day of 2 day sangat darshan here, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has yet not declared its first list of candidates for the next year's assembly elections but even if it had done so then also it would not have mattered to SAD-BJP because he is confident that the alliance would be back in the saddle for the third consecutive time riding on the plank of pro-people and welfare centric measures like-----Free power to the farming sector, free power up to 200 units to the every SC household, distribution of gyms & sports kits to youth , free health insurance to farmers and traders , construction of memorials regarding every community, atta dal scheme, shagan scheme, mukh mantri tirath darshan yatra.Dwelling on the issue of Punjab Bureau of Investigation (PBI), S. Badal disclosed that it has been established to bring further strengthening the investigation process and the personnel to be recruited under it would be given specialised training.

S. Badal also said that the SAD-BJP government is focussing especially on the development of border areas as it is an article of faith with the government to provide the necessary amenities to the residents of these areas.Earlier, the Deputy Chief Minister conducted sangat darshan in 17 villages falling under jalalabad constituency and sanctioned grants worth  Rs. 15 crores  for focusing on concretisation of streets and drains, water supply,  installation of solar lights, sports kits & gyms to youth, community hall under MNREGA, construction of stadium and facilities for submersible bores. The highlight was the distribution of bicycles to the children of registered construction workers at Government Senior Secondary School Lamochar Kalan.Among others present on the occasion were OSD to Deputy Chief Minister,  Moneesh Kumar and Satinderjit Singh Manta, Chairman District Planning Board Prem Valecha, Deputy Commissioner Isha Kalia, SSP Narinder Bhargav and other prominent leaders.
