Unidentified persons hurled petrol bomb at the house of PDP’s Minister for Education Naeem Akther at Parray Pora in here. However, the police say that it was not a petrol bomb but “some combustible material”.Sources said that the minister’s house was attacked by petrol bombs by unknown persons at 11 pm on Monday.“No one was injured in the attack. But the glass panes of the front window were damaged in the attack,” sources said.
The minister was not in the house as he is living in an official bungalow in the high security Gupkar Srinagar for last over a year.A senior police official in Srinagar told KNS that the house was not attacked by a petrol bomb, but “some combustible material.”“Some miscreants had burnt the combustible material at the house of the minister when no one was present there.
The fire has caused minor damage to a window,” the official said.This is the third attack on the ruling party legislators. On Monday, Minister for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj and Law & Justice, Abdul Haq Khan was attacked with stones by the agitated youth in Tangdarh area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district. Earlier, Akhtar was attacked with stones by protesters in Bandipora district.Last week, PDP legislator from Pulwama Khalil Bandh was attacked by protesters at Prichoo near Pulwama town in which he suffered fracture in one of his legs.However, the legislator’s relatives and the administration had said that the MLA was injured in a raod accident.
