Union Food Processing Minister Mrs. Harsimrat Kaur Badal today accused the Congress Party for deliberately tarnishing the image of Punjab by dubbing Punjabis as ‘drug addicts’ with a sole agenda to gain political mileage.Interacting with media persons here after inaugurating and laying foundation stones of various development projects, Mrs. Badal said that Congress and AAP was all out to defame Punjab. She said that the ongoing recruitment process in Punjab Police itself a crystal clear example where only 1 percent result of dope was come positive. She said that both party were acting as inimical forces for vote politics but people should stay away from their nefarious designs.Answering to a query regarding Mr. Navjot Singh Sidhu’s likely entrance in AAP, Mrs. Badal said that the former was taking dig at AAP leaders by calling them turncoats but now he, himself, proved as one. She said that AAP leaders had no agenda, vision and stand. She said that in Delhi Mr. Arvind Kejriwal had proved a badly failed Chief Minister by changing colours like chameleon. Mrs. Badal said that Mr. Kejriwal was playing politics of dual standards and backstabbed the people of Delhi..   

Hailing decision of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi for approving All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) at Bathinda, Mrs. Badal said that this prestigious healthcare institute would prove a boon for Punjab and neighbouring states. She said that this institute would be constructed at a cost of Rs.926 crore with a facility of 750 beds free of cost treatment facilities.Earlier, in order to ensure water in various villages, Mrs. Harsimrat Kaur Badal flagged off 18 water tankers, 7 for Village Khayal Kalan and 11 for the villages of Budhlada. Later, she also laid foundation stones worth Rs. 60 Crores for the link roads  from Khayal Kalan to Matti, Bhikhi to Daler Singh Wala, Boha to Mal Singh Wala- Barre to Barnala, Boha Saidwala to Bareta and Boha Kurlian to Bareta to Kishangarh. Besides this she inaugurated newly constructed worth Rs. 75 Lakh office of Market Committee Boha. Afterwards, Mrs. Badal also laid the foundation stone for upgrading of the schools namely government High School village Kotla Kalan to Senior Secondary and Senior Secondary School for Girls Boha. Giving message to keep the area clean and green, Mrs. Badal planted the saplings in the school. She also laid number of foundations stones worth Rs. 4 Crores to execute various developmental works in different wards. During Sangat Darshan she also took stock of the ongoing development works in different wards.
