Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today said that the frequent outbursts of Delhi Chief Minister Mr. Arvind Kejriwal against his political opponents reflects that he was a frustrated man, who was not even aware of dignity of his chair. Interacting with the media persons on the sidelines of Sangat Darshan program in Bhadaur assembly segment here today, the Chief Minister said that it doesn't behoves a political leader of the stature of a Chief Minister of any state to issue such type of statements as given by Mr. Kejriwal against Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi and even against Akali leadership in state. He said that such irrational and baseless allegations that too without any proof reflect Kejriwal’s hollow personality. “Throughout my life I have been a votary of morality in politics and I firmly believe that that Kejriwal must desist from issuing such statements just for sake of scoring brownie points before media”, added Mr. Badal. Replying to another query, the Chief Minister said that due to its pro-people and growth oriented policies the SAD-BJP alliance would make government in the state for third consecutive term. He said that there was no competitor of alliance in the state adding that it would sweep the ensuing assembly elections in the state.

“Captain and Kejriwal must stop dreaming about coming to power in the state as people will repose their faith in growth and welfare oriented policies of alliance”, added Mr. Badal. On a query regarding possibility of former BJP MP Mr. Navjot Singh Sidhu joining the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the Chief Minister said that it would hardly have any effect on the politics of state. He reiterated that people of state have strong disliking for political opportunists and turncoats adding that the wise people of state would teach a lesson to Mr. Sidhu for deceiving his mother party. Mr. Badal said that the person who has ditched his mother party could ditch anyone, so people would not rely on him.Earlier addressing the public gatherings during Sangat Darshan program in Shehna, Jangiana and Bhaduar, the Chief Minister, while assailing the state Congress Chief Captain Amarinder Singh for misleading the people on Satluj Yamuna Link canal issue, said that distortion of facts by Lok Sabha MP from Amritsar could not absolve him or his party from the sin of hatching the conspiracy to rob the waters of state.

Mr. Badal said that it was on record that the Congress had planned and executed SYL canal to snatch the waters of the state. Likewise, he said that it was equally true that Amarinder had welcomed the then Prime Minister Mrs. Indira Gandhi to lay foundation of this sorrow of Punjab. Mr. Badal said that after signing the SYL agreement, the state Congress leadership was now trying to hoodwink the people by presenting wrong facts. “People are well aware of track record of Congress leaders and they would never forgive them for this heinous crime”, he added. The Chief Minister said that AAP and Congress were two faces of same coin and both of them don’t have any sympathy with Punjab or Punjabis. He said that both the parties just want to plunder the wealth of state for their vested political interests. Mr. Badal reiterated that only Shiromani Akali Dal was true sympathizer of Punjab adding that they were duty-bound to safeguard the interests of the state at any cost. Quipping on Delhi Chief Minister Mr. Arvind Kejriwal, Mr. Badal said that the AAP supremo was totally ignorant about history, topography and culture of state. He said that though Mr. Kejriwal was dreaming to assume power in state but the AAP supremo was not even aware of location of Tapa and Barnala. Mr. Badal cautioned the people that if such ignorant people assume power in the state then it would be very fatal for the state.

The Chief Minister further said that in a short span of BJP led NDA government’s rule at centre, Punjab has been immensely benefitted from it. He said that the Union government has given several key projects to the state, which would be instrumental in putting the state further on high growth trajectory.
