On the completion of 50 years of Press Council of India, a Golden Jubilee function is being organized on the occasion of National Press Day on November 16, 2016. During this function, journalists who have excelled in the field of journalism would be given National Awards. These awards would be given during a special function to be organized at Delhi on November 16, 2016.While providing information, a representative of the government informed that Press Council of India, which is working for the freedom of press and is an autonomous body, would give away these prizes during the National Press Day. On this occasion, journalists, photojournalists and free lance journalists, who have excelled in various fields of journalism, would be honoured with a National Award.
