Denouncing Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) as anti-Punjab, the Punjab Deputy Chief Minister, S. Sukhbir Singh Badal today said that the SAD-BJP government has been the harbinger of record progress during the previous 9 years. He also said that SAD-BJP alliance is adopting developmental approach while the Congress and AAP don’t care a fig about Punjab having only single pointed agenda of grabbing power for which they are even ready to cause destruction of the state.Addressing people during sangat darshan programme of 56 panchayats of Banga, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the state government has successfully implemented the various welfare schemes to uplift the standard of living of the people besides making Punjab a power surplus state and transforming the road infrastructure. Making a mention of atta-dal scheme, free power, shagan scheme and health insurance scheme, he disclosed that the recently initiated free health insurance scheme has benefitted the people of Punjab in a huge way with 40 lakh people included under the ambit of the scheme. He also said that the development centric works are being speedily executed now because of governments of alliance partner at both center and state and the SAD-BJP should be given the third chance so as to continue this chain of development. He said that the state has been witness to the developmental phase only with SAD-BJP Government assuming reins of power under the leadership of S. Parkash Singh Badal.
In his interaction with the media-persons, he disclosed that AAP Convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is trying to vitiate the atmosphere of Punjab and deliberately defaming the Punjab and proud Punjabi’s. He further said that Kejriwal is completely ignorant of the glorious history, culture and traditions of Punjab and is trying to befool Punjabi people owing to his greed.Castigating Congress, he said that during tenure as Chief Minister, Captain Amarinder Singh did not initiated even a single development oriented project and the congress regimes at the center always discriminated against Punjab. On the crucial SYL issue, he said that he cannot comment much since the matter is sub-judice but he can assure that SAD is ready for any sacrifice to protect the interests of farming community of Punjab.
On the occasion, he distributed cheques of grants worth Rs. 3 crore to the 56 panchayats of banga at aur and mukandpur and listened to the woes of panchayats. Instructing officials present to resolve the problems, S. Badal said that the state government is paying special attention for the development of doaba area. He further disclosed that earlier, Rs. 25 crore have been given for the development of banga and during the present 2 day sangat darshan, amount more worth Rs. 10 crore would be given.Among others present on the occasion were Ex-MLA Mohan Lal Banga, Chairman District Planning Committee Dr. Sukhwinder Kumar Sukhi, Chairman Markfed Jarnail Singh Wahid, District President SAD Baba Ram Singh Dudhala, Special Principal Secretary to the Deputy Chief Minister, Rahul Tewari, Deputy Commissioner Vipul Ujjwal and SSP Snehdeep Sharma and other senior SAD and BJP leaders.
