Jagmeet Singh Brar strongly condemned the incident of Dalit women being assaulted by Punjab Police staff in ( JALALBAD) Fazilka district on Monday He said "It is a shameful act of police brutality against helpless Dalit women, especially in light of recent events in Gujarat and UP this shows a clear pattern of Dalit abuse across the country"He added "Sukhbir uses some elements of Punjab Police like his 'private gunda fauj' and what more proof do we need when they act like this in his own constituency - when police is given a free hand and political patronage then these incidents are bound to happen"He praised the brave Dalit family for standing up for their rights and for not succumbing to Police pressure and offered them free legal assistance if they needed it.He said Sukhbir's had gone blind with power & wealth and was using the police like a political tool to scare people.He appealed to the oppressed and downtrodden Dalit communities of Punjab to support his call for a "Punjabiat Mahagathbandhan" and said "Agar Punjab Di Saari Biraadariyan Ek Morche Te Katheeyan Ho Jaan - Badalan De Is Tughlaki Raaj Di Itt Naal Itt Vaja Deyange"
