Under the unique initiative of “Aapka Vidhayak, Aapke Dwar”, Speaker, Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly Kavinder Gupta today convened public meetings at Sanjay Nagar and Lower Gadigarh and took stock of the demands and problems of the people.The people hailing from different sections of the society apprised the Speaker about the problems being faced by them related to power supply, water supply, road connectivity, sanitation and construction of lanes and drains.While addressing the gathering, the Speaker announced Rs. 10 lakh from his PDF for the maintenance of lanes and drains in Sanjay Nagar. He further said that the developmental works in Nanak Nagar, Preet Nagar, Digiana and Sanjay Nagar would be executed on priority basis.The Speaker called upon people to not throw garbage on the streets and help the government in making India Clean, adding that, public participation is imperative for achieving the goals set under Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan.Meanwhile, the inhabitants of Lower Gadigarh demanded that the construction of road leading from Bhor Camp to Lower Gadigarh. They further demanded that power supply should be streamlined in their area.Responding to their demands, the Speaker said that the construction work of road would be started after the monsoon season, adding that, the electric network in the area would be further strengthened by replacing old transformers with new ones as soon as possible.
