Congress today termed the visit of Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh a mere eye wash, as nothing concrete seems to be happening on the ground. The decisions taken by both State and Central Govt with regard to current situation prevailing here in valley are not being transformed into reality, as a result the situation continues to remain grim.In a joint statement issued to KNS, MLC Ghulam Nabi Monga, MLA Haji Ab. Rashid Dar, Vice Presidents, MLA Mohd Amin Bhat, MLA Gulzar Ahmad Wani have stated that nothing concrete seems to have happened on the ground even after the visit of Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh. It was expected that Singh during his visit would announce some CBMs directly benefiting the people, besides addressing the current situation, but this is unfortunate, Home Minister remained limited to his official versions about the current unrest, besides no serious efforts were made to reach out to the people, particularly to those who lost their dear ones in the backdrop of the protests erupted in South Kashmir and Elsewhere.

They said both J&K Govt and Central have miserably failed to respond to issues concerning people. The suggestions given by the Congress Party in All Party Meetings seems to have fallen in a deaf ears, as a result, no concrete steps were taken to end the current unrest. The continuous restrictions on the movement of people besides banning internet and mobile services have disconnected the valley from rest of the Country and the irony is that State Govt has not been able to restore these services.Stating that Central Govt must shun it’s unfriendly attitude towards the J&K State, Congress urged upon the Govt take effective measures and ensure that the current unrest comes to an end without costing any more precious life from either side.
