Punjab Deputy Minister S. Sukhbir Singh Badal today came down heavily on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and said this novice party does not care at all about either the religious tenets of any religion as well as security of nation.Addressing mediapersons at the information centre of Sri Darbar Sahib, he said the act of releasing videotape regarding parliament security details on the social media by AAP MP Bhagwant Mann amounts to endangering the security of august apex house which doesn't behoves of its an elected representative.He also made it clear that had any MP belonging to the SAD committed such a blunder, the party would have taken strict action but the AAP leadership has sprung up to the defence of its parliamentarian instead of initiating any action against him which signifies AAP links with separatist forces.
Reproaching AAP in strong terms, S. Badal said such elements are trying day in and day out to defame Punjab and Punjabis but the SAD-BJP government would not let it happen. He further elaborated that dope tests would be conducted on around 7 lakh youth who have applied for police recruitment and the results of which would be a tight slap on the face of anti-Punjab forces who were hell bent upon to defame Punjabis. He also called upon the mediapersons to themselves witness the dope tests and present the real picture to the people.On the issue of various parties challenging SAD-BJP government in 2017 assembly polls, Deputy Chief Minister said the state government would counter the challenges of opposition with hard facts on various development centric initiatives which would speak for themselves. He said the SAD-BJP government would contest next year's assembly polls on developmental plank and the alliance would definitely score a hat-trick.
Regarding various development oriented projects currently underway in Amritsar, he informed that majority of the projects would be completed by 1st October this. He disclosed that the initiation of BRTS project would give respite to the residents of the holy city from traffic snarls making commuting easy resulting in increased tourist inflow which would give a fillip to the trade and commerce of the city. He also said the citizens would witness changed face of the city in next two months. On the occasion, S. Badal also reviewed the beautification work around Sri Darbar Sahib, work in progress at the basement of golden temple apart from BRTS.Earlier, the Deputy CM paid obeisance at sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib along with family including union minister Mrs Harsimrat Kaur Badal. Among those present on the occasion included Advisor to Deputy CM Manjinder Singh Sirsa, SGPC senior vice president Raghujit Singh Virk, SGPC chief secretary Harcharan Singh, DC Varun Roojam, Police Commissioner Amar Singh Chahal and other senior SAD leaders along with senior government officials.
