Delhi Water Minister and Chairman of Delhi Jal Board, Kapil Mishra today said that for cleaning of Yamuna River, Delhi Government to take help of Sant Balbir Seechewal, who has already proved his mettle by cleaning the Kali Bein rivulet in Punjab.Mishra along with State Convenor of AAP, Sucha Singh Chhotepur and senior officials of Delhi Jal Board specially visited Seechewal village to meet Sant Balbir Seechewal, where the latter explained his entire model of cleaning the Kali Bein rivulet and setting up a Water Treatment Plant at a very low cost in the area.“Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who recently visited Seechewal, has instructed me to take tips of cleaning Yamuna from Sant Seechewal, that is why, I along with my entire team is here to understand Seechewal model of cleaning the rivulet, which will be applied in Delhi to clean the Yamuna”, Mishra said.Loading the role of Seechewal in the field of curbing water pollution, Mishra said if this model would be successful in Delhi, entire World would be attracted to apply it in their respective countries.

“We have planned to clean the Yamuna River within two to three years to provide pure drinking water to entire Delhi”, Mishra said while extending a humble invitation to Sant Seechewal to visit Delhi for meeting with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and entire team of Delhi Jal Board.Mishra revealed that tomorrow (Tuesday) he would meet the Union Minister Uma Bharti, who also especially visited Seechewal and advocated taking help of Baba Seechewal for cleaning Yamuna River.While welcoming Mishra and his team, Sant Seechewal said “I am ready to go anywhere to clean water and to protect natural resources from pollution”Replying to a query of media regarding his support to any political party, Seechewal said “I will appeal to all political parties to include the issue of growing pollution in their poll document and whosoever party would roll out a concrete agenda on this issue, I will extend my support that party”Prominent among those who visited Seechewal village along with Mishra, include State Convenor of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Sucha Singh Chhotepur, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Delhi Jal Board Keshav Chandra and Member of the Board RS Tyagi.
