The Department of Horticulture today organized an awareness camp to educate farmers about various centrally sponsored and state schemes.Representatives of all allied departments including agriculture, sericulture, fisheries, floriculture, horticulture P&M participated in the awareness camp. They interacted with the farmers and shared technical information that will help them in day to day activities in their farms. They answered queries and gave tips to farmers on use of modern techniques in different farming activities.
A total of 95 farmers hailing from several villages including Kotli, Bajalian, Nomian, Katra participated in the awareness camp.The Department of Horticulture also distributed 300 fruit plants of Litchi, Guava and Pomegranate free of cost to the farmers for planting them in the ongoing rainy season.The camp was attended by Chief Horticulture Officer Sushil Kumar, DL SMS Sarabjit Singh, HDO Sandeep and Varinder, various sarpances, panchs of all nearby villages.
