Punjab government is contemplating to grant land ownership rights of allotted nazool land to the members of State Nazool Land Cooperative Societies. This was assured by Punjab Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia while presiding over a meeting of a delegation of members of Punjab Nazool Land Cooperative Societies, which has called on him today at his office in Punjab Civil Secretariate demanding exclusive land ownership rights of the society owned Nazool land for their society members. The members of delegation pointed out that till date these societies have joint mutations resulting in denial of various benefits to the members i.e no advance loan from government banks, no power connection and approval of lay out design for constructing houses.

Mr. Majithia directed Financial Commissioner Revenue to work out a solution for redressing the issue raised by societies. He further asked him to ensure protection of right of every stakeholder and submit his report at the earliest to resolve this issue for once and all. He said that the Punjab government was fully committed for the welfare of underprivileged sections of the society and every possible effort will be made for ensuring them their right full due. Mr. Jagan Singh, State President, Punjab Nazool Land Cooperative Societies along with other office bearers thanked the Revenue Minister for listening to their demands and expressed early redressal of the proprietary rights issue.Mr. Sikander Singh Maluka, Rural Development Minister, Justice Nirmal Singh (Retd) MLA, Bassi Pathana and Mr KBS Sidhu, Financial Commissioner Revenue participated in the meeting.
