Patiala , 21 Jul 2016

The Punjab Deputy Chief Minister, Sukhbir Singh Badal today said that the main contest of the SAD-BJP government in the 2017 assembly elections would be against the totally weakened party of frustrated people i.e. the Congress because Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) bubble would also burst just like Peoples Party Punjab (PPP). He also said that AAP would meet the fate worse than the PPP did in the 2012 polls. On the occasion of the second and last day of sangat darshan of Patiala-2 halqa, the Deputy Chief Minister while replying to a query from media-persons said that the 2017 polls would be fought under the leadership of Chief Minister, S. Parkash Singh Badal who would be the star campaigner of the party. He further said that Punjab is marching rapidly on course to scaling more heights of development which is greatly helped by the state friendly government headed by alliance partner BJP at the center.

He also divulged that in the previous 2 years, the Modi government has given developmental projects worth Rs. 30000 crore to Punjab. He appealed to the masses to again vote for the SAD-BJP combine in the 2017 assembly polls in order to maintain the momentum of the development journey.Taking on AAP, the Deputy Chief Minister disclosed that this party wants to grab power in a prosperous state like Punjab just to keep the pot of confrontation boiling with the Union Government and Kejriwal has sole agenda of using Punjab for his narrow political aspirations otherwise he has nothing to do with Punjab’s interests. He asked people to be wary of lies and false promises of AAP leaders.Earlier addressing a huge gathering, the Deputy Chief Minister said that SAD-BJP government has lived up to its promises which is quite evident from the all roads being 4 and 6 laned besides 2 international airports at Mohali and Amritsar, Industrial parks at Mohali & Rajpura and an E-Cycle valley coming up at Ludhiana.

Elaborating more, S. Badal said that nearly 150 bridges have been constructed on the railway lines falling on the prominent roads to ensure un-interrupted travel. Stating that the overall record of SAD-BJP government on the scale of development is matchless, he took a dig at PPCC Chief Captain Amarinder Singh who he said has not visited even one ward of Patiala then how can be of any help to the people of the state. He said that on the contrary, S. Parkash Singh Badal has visited every single village of the state and he very well knows the aspirations of the people. The Deputy Chief Minister on the occasion distributed grants for development purposes to the 21 wards, Urban Estates Phase-1,2 and 3 apart from the associations of areas pertaining to Punjabi University. He also gave a patient hearing to the problems of the people and directed the officers present to mitigate them at the earliest. After that, S. Badal inaugurated the parking of mata sri kali devi mandir and also laid the foundation stone of beautification of Rajindra tank. It is important to mention that the parking of mata sri kali devi mandir has come up in 47000 square feet with the cost of Rs. 3.86 crore.

The parking has space for 50 cars and 800 two-wheelers.Making an important announcement, S. Badal said that the small choe of Patiala would be concretized at a cost of Rs. 13 crore and further attention would be paid to its beautification. He also made an announcement to construct solid roads, their maintenance and inviting tenders for fire services.Among those present on the occasion were Cabinet Minister Surjit Singh Rakhra, Incharge SAD Halqa Patiala-2 (Rural) Advocate Satbir Singh Khattra, Former Minister Surjit Singh Kohli, Mayor of Patiala Amarinder Bajaj, Deputy Commissioner Ramvir Singh, SSP Gurmit Singh Chauhan, Commissioner Municipal Corporation Parminder Singh Gill and several prominent SAD, BJP leaders.
