The Punjab Education Minister, Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema today batted for accelerating new recruitments and promotions in order to ensure more efficiency in the functioning of the department.In a statement to the press after presiding over a review meeting with the departmental officials here at the Punjab Civil Secretariat, Dr. Cheema said that whereas the department is going to announce the results of recruitment pertaining to 4500 ETT teachers this month, on the other hand recruitment process regarding 2000 new ETT teachers would begin soon with the issuing of an advertisement. After the completion of whole recruitment process, no primary school in the state would face vacant posts by 31st March, 2017 as all posts would be filled.
The Education Minister also said that departmental officials have been instructed to bring more acceleration to the new recruitments and promotions. Disclosing more, he said that 58 Center Head Teachers (CHT) would soon be promoted as Block Primary Education Officers (B.P.E.O.) besides effecting the promotions from ETT teachers to Head Teacher (H.T.) and from H.T. to CHT. He also said that the massive recruitments and promotions by the department in the government schools of the state would go a long way in ensuring the quality education in the state.On the occasion, Principal Secretary G. Vajralingam, Director General School Education Pardeep Aggarwal, DPI (Secondary Education) Balbir Singh Dhol, DPI (Elementary Education) Mrs. Pankaj Sharma and additional state project director Dr. Gurjit Singh were also present.
