To review performance of banks in the key area of deposits and advances for the quarter ending March 2016 under the Annual credit Plan 2016-17, a meeting of District Level Review Committee cum District Consultative Committee (DLRC/DCC) was held under the Chairmanship of District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Niraj Kumar here today.Joint Director Planning, Rakesh Jamwal, representative from RBI, R. LDO RBI, Jammu, AGM NABARD, Manohar Lal, Zonal Head J&K Bank, Sareen, LDM, K. K. Gupta, ACR, Subash Dogra, Project Officer DRDA, Dr. Jagdish Mehra and officers of line departments attended the meeting.In the meeting, detailed review was held on issues pertaining to Financial Inclusion Plan (FIP), performance of different banks under various government sponsored schemes, bank wise position of deposits and advances in Udhampur district and position of SHGs and Kissan Credit Cards (KCCs) issued by various banks.
Stressing the need for generating awareness about different poverty alleviation schemes of the government, the DDC exhorted upon the bankers and sectoral officers of different departments to hold joint awareness camps in different locations of the district including remote areas regarding these schemes so that poor masses can reap the benefits of these schemes for their economic betterment.The DDC exhorted upon the officers of Banks and Line Departments to fix targets according to the need and potential of the area and put in synergized efforts to achieve optimum results on the ground in a specified time frame. He also instructed the banks to promote more and more SHGs and achieve the targets for issuing KCCs.
