Terming Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and state Congress Chief Captain Amarinder Singh as 'chronic non - performers', the Punjab Chief Minister  Parkash Singh Badal today both of these leaders were trying to outdo each other in making ‘castles in air’. Interacting with the media persons on the sidelines of Sangat Darshan program in Garhshankar assembly segment, the Chief Minister said that both these leaders have failed in discharging their duty towards public whenever they have been given a chance. Citing the examples, he said that Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi was a total failure as Kejriwal has failed to fulfill even a single promise made to people before polls. Likewise, Mr. Badal said that Captain Amarinder Singh's tenure as Chief Minister in state was best remembered for his inaccessibility to the people of rather than any other work.

However, the Chief Minister said that it was surprising that in false hope of getting power in the state Captain-Kejriwal duo was making every effort to mislead the voters. Mr. Badal said that both these leaders could do nothing for ensuring the well being of people and were showing green pastures to people for getting their votes. “People of Punjab are every wise but I will just request them to check the antecedents of any political leader who seeks vote from them”, he added.Lashing out at the Congress party, the Chief Minister said that it had ruined the state by irrelevantly meddling in its social, political, economic and even religious affairs. He said that the successive Congress governments at the centre had meted out step motherly treatment to the state which resulted in severe blow to the state’s economy. However, Mr. Badal said that with the formation of NDA government at centre now the things were moving on right track.

The Chief Minister further said that Aam Aadmi Party was suffering from same anti-Punjab syndrome as Congress. He said that the affidavit filed by Kejriwal led Delhi government in Supreme Court on SYL issue has exposed its anti-Punjab mindset. These people just want to plunder the wealth of state while SAD-BJP alliance is committed for development of Punjab and prosperity of its people” added Mr. Badal.Listing the major pro-people initiatives taken by the state government, the Chief Minister said that due to concerted efforts of alliance government, Punjab was the today only power surplus state in the country. He further said that Punjab was the only state in the country to provide free power worth Rs. 5000 crore annually to its farmers. Mr. Badal said that the state government has started first of its kind scheme to provide interest free crop loans worth Rs. 50,000 to the farmers. He further said that in another historic decision it has been decided that all the farmers would be provided a health insurance cover of Rs.50,000 and an insurance of Rs.5 lac in case of accidental death or incapacitation of head of family.

The Chief Minister said that massive development of state was taking place in all the spheres and Punjab was today a leading state in the country. Likewise, he said that despite being a border state Punjab was today one of the most peaceful state in the country. Mr. Badal said that Punjab government has started schemes like Atta Dal, shagun, pensions and others that were proving to be a boon for weaker sections of society.Earlier highlighting the significance of Sangat Darshan program during his address in village Binjo, Akalgarh and Garhshankar, the Chief Minister said that it was a flagship program of his government from the first day ever since he assumed the office. He said that this program finds no parallel across the country as no other Chief Minister bothers to spare so much time for the people by solving their problems at their doorsteps. Mr. Badal said that this program helps in quick resolution of public problems on one hand besides judging the performance of the government officers/officials on the other. The Chief Minister was accompanied by Cabinet Minister Mr. Sohan Singh Thandal, MLA Mr. Surinder Singh Bhulewalrathan, his Joint Special Principal Secretary Mr. Kumar Amit, Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Anandita Mitra and Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. KS Chahal.
