Sleuths of Vigilance Bureau today nabbed reader of SDM Nawanshahr red handed accepting bribe of Rs. 35,000.Disclosing this here an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said that Harpal Singh, reader of SDM Nawanshahr was caught on the complaint of Mr. Sukhninder Singh of village Dhesian Kahna, Police Station Gorayian, District Jalandhar. In his complaint to the Vigilance Bureau the complainant informed that a case of inheritance of immovable property of his uncle, who is living in America, was pending before the SDM, Nawanshahr and he was pursuing the case on his behalf of his uncle. He alleged that in order to get the mutation of this inherited property done, Harpal Singh, reader of SDM Nawanshahr was demanding bribe of Rs. 50,000 from him and the deal was struck at Rs.35, 000.Acting on the tip off the complainant a trap was laid by the team of Vigilance Bureau and the reader Harpal Singh was nabbed red handed while accepting the bribe of Rs. 35,000 from complainant Sukhninder Singh.
