Dhillon Approves Four Lane Project For Morinda-Kurali-Siswan-Baddi Road

The Punjab Government today approved four lane project for the Morinda-Kurali-Siswan-Baddi road with a total cost of Rs. 71 crore. The construction work for this project would start from December 2012 and the completion would take place in June 2014. Disclosing this,  Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, PWD Minister today said that this four lane project would facilitate thousands of daily commuters besides saving both their time and money. He said that the construction on this total 30 kilometer long stretch up to Baddi (Punjab Border) would commence from December this year and the state government has given all the necessary clearances regarding the project.Talking about the advantages of this 4 lane road,  Dhillon said that with the completion of Morinda-Baddi project traffic congestion on Kharar-Chandigarh road would witness reduction besides saving precious time of daily commuters. He said that this would also upgrade the standards of Kandi area. Reiterating the commitment of SAD-BJP Government to provide best road network in the state,  Dhillon said that Rs. 224 crore would be spent on under construction Chamkaur Sahib-Neelon-Doraha road, which would be completed by December 2013. The Minister also said that PWD has issued strict directions to complete the patch work on main roads in the state by November 15. He said that the SAD-BJP Government has upgraded 328 kilometer road stretch besides completing construction of 18 bridges in the state.
