Aam Aadmi Party Punjab Senior leader and Spokesperson Sukhpal Singh Khaira on Saturday released the video showing Akali-Congress leaders putting ‘Tilak’ on Sri Guru Granth Sahib in a function. Addressing the media Khaira showed the video of Akali Lok Sabha Member Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra, Cabinet Minister Surjeet Singh Rakhra and Congress MLA Parneet Kaur disrespecting Sri Guru Granth Sahib and doing act of blasphemy.Khaira also showed the political posters in which of Shiromani Akali Dal and Congress had used the photo of Sri Darbar Sahib with symbols of these parties. He demanded immediate apology from Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, Akali Dal Chief Sukhbir Singh Badal and Capt. Amrinder Singh for hurting the sentiments of Sikh community.Khaira demanded to register a case under art 295-A of IPC against the leaders of Congress and Akali Dal. He also asked SGPC chief and Jathedaar Sri Akal Takht Sahib if they would take any action against the leaders of these parties.  

Khaira took notice of Chief Minister Badal and Captain Amrinder’s claim that the apology and visit of AAP leaders to Sri Darbar Sahib is mere a political drama. He said AAP has tendered apology from Sikh Sangat and Akali-Congress leaders have no right to comment over it. Moreover the comment insults Lakhs of Sikhs who visit Sri Darbar Sahib every day.            Commenting on the SGPC’s role in taking action against Sukhbir Badal for dishonoring ‘Kesh’ during holy function, Khaira said that why the SGPC didn’t question the action of Shiromani Akali Dal chief.Khaira said that the moment AAP leaders realized that they have committed mistake during ‘Youth Manifesto’ releasing programme they immediately tendered apology from Sikh Sangat. In this regard AAP National Convenor and Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal will be Visiting Sri Darbar Sahib on July 18 to apologize for the mistake committed by his party.
