Minister for Forests, Ecology and Environment Choudhary Lal Singh today launched a beautification-cum-plantation drive at Muttal with planting a sapling in the area.Speaking on the occasion, the Minister directed the officers to work with devotion and dedication for protection of the green gold in the state. He asked them to further intensify the plantation drives with active participation of local people, adding that Government is working under a well knit strategy for afforestation across the stateMeanwhile, the Minister convened a public grievance redressal camp at Muttal in which the people apprised him of their demands and problems. He assured the locals that all possible efforts will be made to provide solutions for their issues.Later, the Minister felicitated senior citizens at a function organized by Senior Citizens Welfare Forum, Katra.He also paid tribute to Shamaprasad Mukherjee at a function organized at Salain Talab, Udhampur.Deputy Commissioner Niraj Kumar along with Chief Conservator of forests, Roshan Jaggi, Conservator of Forests East Circle Jammu Naveen Kumar Shah, various officers of forest department, besides prominent citizens were present on the occasion.
