Harcharan Singh, Director Sainik Welfare, Jammu, called on Governor N.N. Vohra, President J&K Rajya Sainik Board (RSB) at the Raj Bhavan here today.Brig Singh briefed the Governor about the various initiatives taken by him for promoting the welfare of the ex-Servicemen, including the to-date status of setting up Grievance Redressal Cells at the State and  District levels for the benefit of ex-Servicemen and their families; adding new facilities  in all the Sainik Bhawans; digitization of ESM data; improving the financial status of the Board and various issues relating to the support being provided by the Kendriya Sainik Board to the J&K Rajya Sainik Board for implementing welfare schemes for ex-Servicemen.Brig. Singh also informed the Governor about the help given by DGP for the establishment of a Single Window Clearance facility at Police Headquarters which receives complaints of ex-Servicemen and arranges speedy resolution of complaints.The Governor urged Brig. Singh to continue sustained efforts for establishing a larger corpus of funds for promoting the welfare of the ex-Servicemen in the State.
