Police on Monday claimed to have solved mysterious murder case in around 24 hours.An official told KNS that Hajin Police received information that the body of Fayaz Ahmad Dar son of Mohammad Maqbool Dar resident of Vijipara Hajin is lying in the bathroom of his house.“Police party rushed to the spot and recovered the body of the deceased. A case FIR number 42/2016 under section 302/RPC was registered and investigation was set into motion,” he said.A Special Investigation Team (SIT) was constituted headed by SDPO Sumbal Shri Rashid Akbar assisted by SHO Police Station Hajin Shri Parvaiz Ahmad under the supervision of SP Bandipora Shri Mumtaz Ahmad.During the course of investigation, the deceased’s wife Zamrooda Begum was questioned about the murder of her husband but she denied of having any information about the incident. She was further questioned about her phone number and in reply she stated that she does not have any mobile phone from last two years. However her claim was contradicted by her teenage children, who stated that their mother was having a mobile phone and was using it covertly.The investigation revealed that the deceased had doubts on her wife of having illegal relationship with one Showkat Ahmad Bhat son of Assad-ul-lah resident of Kumina Baharabad Hajin due to which some differences had developed in their wedlock.
Accordingly the suspect Showkat was brought into police custody for questioning. During questioning he disclosed that he had illegal affairs with the wife of deceased and had grown closer to her during past few years.The investigation further revealed that few days ago, Showkat and the wife of the deceased Zamrooda hatched a criminal conspiracy about the murder of Fayaz Dar. On the intervening night of 2nd and 3rd of the instant month Zamrooda communicated with her boyfriend on phone and asked him to come his house and kill her husband. At about 2230 Hours Zamrooda had kept the window of the room open to let Showkat in. They went to the room of the deceased and killed him in his sleep. Accused Showkat held deceased tightly by his hands and sat on his chest while as Zamrooda has pressed tightly on neck until his last breath. (KNS)
