Director General Tourism, Farooq A Shah, took a review meeting of all CEOs and HODs in the tourism and floriculture sector to get update about the ongoing development works in the respective tourism spots.Shah urged the officers to be present in their place of posting and ensure sanitation, garbage disposal and implementation of regulatory mechanisms to facilitate tourists.He directed officers to implement the ban on polythene use for which a monitoring cell has been framed which keeps him informed so that the violators and negligent officials can be made accountable.Shah stressed for completing the ongoing projects under the CM commitment with speed and quality.
Shah also instructed the floriculture department to complete the revival of damaged parks and gardens post flood without any further delays because the parks and gardens compliment the tourism industry as a whole.MD Cable Car was asked to ensure the timely completion of the Jammu ropeway and ensure the hassle free Gondola experience for the visitors.“Two days deadline has been set to the officers to ensure the sanitized, clean tourism spots by installing required infrastructure like dust bins ,bio toilets ,STP's and by organising special cleanliness drive in the respective tourism spots.Director Floriculture Talat Parvez, Director Tourism Mehmood A Shah, MD JKTDC, Director SKICC, MD Cable Car, Secretary RSGC, all CEOs of different development authorities and other tourism officials were called to convey the seriousness of Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti, to implement the decisions for upkeep and development of the tourism spots in letter and spirit.
