Rifle snatching: SOG detains militant’s brother in Chandoora

A Special Investigation Team of police on Thursday detained a class 2nd-year student from Chadoora area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district with regard to the rifle snatching from the guard room of BJP leader’s house on Tuesday.Official sources told news agency Global News Service (GNS) that the SOG personnel part of SIT, formed to crack the case involving the rifle snatching incident, during a raid at Nagam Chadoora today detained the student Irshad Ahmad Ittoo son of Habibullah for question.  Irshad’s younger brother Mohammad Yaseen is said to be the active militant of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen.Meanwhile, a police officer while confirming the detention of the youth told GNS that he is being questioned.

 “Actually we are looking at all angles and the detention is part of the investigations”, the officer claimed.Pertinently, unknown gunmen on Tuesday decamped with a service rifle of a cop guarding the BJP leader Ghulam Mohammad Chopan from his residence at Gori Mohalla Panzan, Chadoora.Yesterday, police also detained the BJP leader and he is still under detention while cops also questioned his daughter-in-law.The cop Bashir Ahmad Hanjura has been arrested and has been placed under suspension and is being presently questioned regarding the incident, the officer said.Police had registered a case under FIR No. 74/2016 u/s 7/25 I A Act 392 RPC.
