Minister of State for Health and Medication Education, Ms. Asiea Naqash today informed the House that construction work of district hospital complex Ganderbal has been taken up at a cost of Rs. 52.55 crore against which Rs. 25.30 crore have been expended on the project upto end of last financial year, whileas Rs. 3 crore is proposed to be expended on the project during current financial year under NHM.Replying to a question by Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar, the Minister said that the finishing work in IPD, OPD and Emergency blocks of the hospital are in progress, while as flooring work in SNCU Unit, DEIC has been completed. She said the project is likely to be completed during current fiscal subject to availability of funds.The Minister said the construction work of Unanai hospital Ganderbal has been also taken up at an estimated cost of Rs. 32.50 crore and Rs. 18.50 crore was expended on the project upto the end of last fiscal. She said for the completion of the project the balance amount for Rs. 14 crore has been projected under PMs Package for approval and funding.
The Minister said that structure of Unanai College has been completed. She said that project is likely to be completed during current fiscal, subject to availability of funds.The Minister said to ensure adequate staff in the hospitals of the area a proposal for creation of additional 60 posts of doctors and para medicos was taken up with Finance Department for accord of concurrence. She said however, the Departmental proposal was received back with some observations which are being replied to and the proposal would be re-submitted to Finance Department for approval shortly.The Minister said that PHCs at Lar, Batwina and sub-centre Kurhama do not qualify for upgradation as the population is 2982, 4340 and 2757 respectively. She said besides, there is no proposal under consideration in the Department for upgradation for sub centre Kurhama.The Minister further said that a new hospital building for mini Maternity Centre Watlar has been completed and made functional. She said at present 5 doctors and 6 para medics are providing health care facilities there. She said the hospital was equipped with the facilities of X-ray machine, dental chair, Binocular microscope, delivery bed, operation table, BP apparatus, ILR and vaccine carriers.
