PDP District president and MLC Mohammad Khurshid Alam has said that Srinagar city id an obvious priority for Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and occupies a prime place in her vision to restore pristine glory of Kashmir.Alam referring to her visit to Historical and religious places yesterday, he said that people of the city feel satisfied for her personal interest in pushing the development agenda.He said thatRs.100 crore earmarked for promotion of heritage tourism in Shehr-e-Khaas is an evidence to spare the finances for a desired social change through well-conceived infrastructure buildings. This will give boost to ongoing works.Alam said that CM is keen to make the city environment friendly and improve the deteriorated sectors which would otherwise spoil image of the city’s centrality.He said that she has given due regard to demands raised by people through us and action has begun.
Alam reiterated that not only the religious and historical places will get her due attention, it is the other key sectors of public health, sanitation, protection of water bodies and planned infrastructure building which is receiving her personal attention for positive change.He said that besides the vital projects for development including the building of inner roads and drainage, she is assuring social change. Her welfare measures through “Laadli Beti” and “Aasra” will go a long way in meeting the disgust of the poor and helpless.Alam said with CM’s personal interest, city has seen sea change in traffic management and functioning in hospitals and municipality. The improvement is becoming visible in the sectors controlled by Wakf board also. Other key sectors are being mobilised on her personal direction and it is because of her leadership that construction of marriage halls, opening of parks and protection of water bodies have received visible fillip.Alam highly appreciated the direction given by CM regarding the rehabilitation of safaikaramcharis living around Makhdoom Sahib area in pathetic condition and the restoration of Malkha.Alam hoped that administration will be fully geared to make Srinagar an ideal place with discipline and adequate planning used as convenient tools to give the city its required grandeur.
