Privatisation of power distribution companies to benefit BJP Ministers, leaders: Dushyant Chautala

INLD Leader and Hisar MP Dushyant Chautala has said that decision taken by the BJP-led Haryana government to privatise the 23 sub-divisions of the power distribution companies (DISCOMs) was to extend undue benefits to certain BJP ministers and leaders. Speaking to the mediapersons, Sh Dushyant argued that since the DISCOMs were operational with profit, there was no need for handing over them into private hands. "Five sub-divisions of Gurgaon generates 37 per cent revenue for the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN). Likewise, the sub-divisions of Panipat brings in revenue of 17 per cent for the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN)", he pointed out. 

Sh Dushyant categorically said that it has come to light that so far the three sub-divisions given to the private companies are those having past history of running business in state of Gujrat and having close ties with the top BJP leadership. He claimed that in the coming time, the Haryana government would be giving the rest of the twenty sub-divisions into private hands to companies having share of the BJP ministers. Sh Dushyant also stated that tender amounting to a whopping Rs 500 cr work for Haryana State Power Corporation have been given to Satyam Indus, a firm owned by brother of Haryana Finance Minister Captain Abhimanyu, while adding, "Not just Rs 5-10 cr but Rs 500 cr tender being given to immediate family member of Haryana FM raises many questions."
