The Coalition of Unions, Pahalgam (CUP) organized a massive peaceful protest today with participation of all unions, appealing the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to immediately remove Farooq Ahmad Shah from the post of Director General Tourism DGT in view of the injustice he has been doing with the people of Pahalgam. Mushtaq Pahalgami,social activist Chairman, CUP and other stockholders Abdul Rahman Ganai, president pahalgam hotel/guest house owners union,Reyaz Ahmad Lone Pahalgam Peoples Welfare Organization ,Gulzar Ahmad Raina President Adventure Travel Association Pahalgam, Mohd Iqbal bhat Photographers Association Pahalgam,Mohd Yousuf Lone Adventure Travel Association,Ghulam Nabi Lone President Taxi Union Pahalgam,Gulzar Ahmad Wani President Taxi Union Pahalgam,Mohd Shafi Magray Pony Association Pahalgam, and other hundreds stockholders also urged the CM to intervene and ensure that the injustice that has been meted out to the region and the people of Pahalgam at the hands of the tourism department is ended and rafting and other adventure sports are allowed in Pahalgam. The Coalition of Unions also decided to hold more such protests in Pahalgam if the matter is not swiftly resolved and the responsibility for that would befall the tourism department.
