Thanking people of Islamabad (Anantnag) for registering a visible boycott of the assembly by-elections, Chairman Hurriyat (G) Syed Ali Geelani said that the boycott percentage would have been 95% instead of present figure 66 if the forces camps wouldn’t have been present in the civil populations and the pro-freedom leadership would have been allowed to run their election boycott campaign there. He said that it was clearly a military exercise for which the entire Islamabad assembly segment was converted into an army garrison where tens of thousands of heavily armed military, paramilitary, SOG and police personals were deployed to make this military operation a successful event.

In a statement issued to KNS, Syed Ali Geelani said that the look which the Islamabad town was presenting on the poll day and the way people of the area were distancing themselves from this drama was a loud and clear message to the India and the pro-Indian politicians that the conscience people will never accept them. These people should feel ashamed in calling themselves as the public representatives because despite are favoring situations, use of state machinery and caging the entire opposition in jails and homes they couldn’t collectively garner the support of even 30% people in the area.

Syed Ali Geelani said that “I will not hesitate to claim that if the Hurriyat leadership would have been allowed to reach the people in Islamabad alike the pro-Indian politicians, the figures would have been totally different and except their agents nobody would have voted these pro-Indian people”.

He said that the peasant class of the society who live in Villages and rural areas are a hardworking section and know very little about the politics and political games. He said that the village people are very simple and innocent people who get easily trapped by the wicked policies of the pro-Indian politicians and are lured in the name of electricity, water, roads.Chairman Hurriyat (G) said that these simple people should also know that the electricity, water or roads are not any favour from the politicians to them but it is the hard earned money of these very people which the government collects from them on different names like income tax, sales tax, road tax, water tax and many other direct as well as indirect taxes and it makes the government treasury. They should know that the major part of this money goes to the private accounts of the ministers, their relatives and their favorite people and even the salaries, perks and luxurious rides of these pro-Indian politicians are also paid from the people’s money.

He said that the remaining money which is spent for the welfare of the public doesn’t come from anybodies pockets but it is their own. The pro-freedom leader said that the election boycott call is not any matter of pride or arrogance for us but this practice is harming our sacred freedom struggle and it lengthens our path of freedom because the vote which is asked from the people in the name water, power and roads is misused by India at the international levels as the vote in its favour. Syed Ali Geelani said that my humbly appeal to my nation is that they should try to understand this angle of their votes and shouldn’t damage their future. Syed Ali Geelani said that I personally believe that if the Kashmiri people will come to know the reality of these election dramas and will completely stay away from this process, the India will have no choice to withdraw from this land and they will be never able to justify their forced occupation in Jammu & Kashmir.
