The volunteers of Aam Aadmi Party will keep a tab on the functioning of Punjab civil and police officials who are working as the instruments of nefarious activities of ruling political class. The officers who are blindly following the dictates of Halqa In-charges appointed by SAD, in violation of rules and set principal of natural justice will be questioned about their wrongdoings after the government formation. In a press statement issued by AAP on Wednesday, Head of Administrative and Grievances Cell, Jasbir Singh Bir, IAS (Retd.) said, “The Land, Sand and Transport mafia is flourishing in Punjab under the patronage of ruling combined. Some of the civil and police officials, who are facilitating illegal business and unlawful activities, must stop playing in the hands their political masters.”

Bir said that the money sanctioned for the social welfare schemes is being diverted as per the will of the Akali leaders. “Even the poor and deserving people are unable to get the benefit of these schemes and only the people recommended by Akali Halqa In-charges are being facilitated.” He added. The leader also raised the issue of selective approach being adopted by bureaucrats in releasing grants to the village panchayats and making BPL cards of the poor families. “Akalis have not even spared the religion, the lists of people visited religious places across India under ‘Mukhya Mantri Teerath Yatra’ were drafted by Akali Halka In-charges in place of government officials.” said Bir.Bir cautioned Police officials to stop registering false cases against AAP volunteers on the directions of Youth Akali Dal and SOI leaders.

He said that after the formation of AAP government in Punjab, cases against these police officials will be registered as per the law of the land.Talking about the misuse of public money by Akali-BJP government, Bir said that while the salaries of government employees are not being paid but the Akali Chairmen and politically appointed office bearers are getting the government perks illegally.  The Administrative and Grievances Cell also released the list of its newly appointed office bearer. Dr. Harkesh Singh Sidhu, IAS (Retd.), S. Surinder Singh Sodhi, IPS (Retd.), Sr. Sukhbir Singh Mahal, S. J.P. Singh, Sr. S.S. Multani and S. Jarnail Singh, IFS (Retd.) were appointed as Vice Presidents of the wing. Sr. Amarjit Singh Walia, Dr. Gurjot Singh, Sr. Gurmeet Singh Sandhu and Sr. Darshan Singh were appointed as joint secretaries.Bir Said that the dedicated, committed and hard working volunteers of AAP will have a say in every affair of the party. “The ticket distribution process will be dependent on the feedback sent by the grass root level volunteers of the party. In case, any volunteer has any complaint regarding any thing, he can approach the Administrative and Grievances Cell.” He added.
