AIP Supremo and MLA Langate Er Rasheed today amid heated exchange of arguments with BJP and Congress MLAs reiterated that J&K is not India’s integral part and said that even if he is hanged, will still say that J&K is neither India’s integral part nor Pakistan’s jugular vein.Speaking in the Assembly today, Er Rasheed asked MLAs to understand the historic reality and tell New Delhi that there is no substitute to Plebiscite. Er Rasheed said, “Even if you send me to jail, debar me from contesting elections or hang me, it will not force me to change my stand on Kashmir. We have sacrificed about one lakh lives and can’t compromise on right to self-determination. I am not against India’s sovereignty and am talking simply about J&K which has become a bone of contention between India and Pakistan and Assembly has no authority to overrule UN Resolutions. New Delhi has been claiming all the way that people in this side of Kashmir have casted their votes in huge numbers and people living in PaK are not comfortable with Pakistan, so there is no reason why should New Delhi runaway from Plebiscite, may be people on both sides of LOC will vote for India and then whole J&K will become India’s integral part.”
Er Rasheed condemned government for not presenting report of magisterial enquiry of Handwara killings and said that the way 22 rioters were freed within hours in Jammu after damaging huge public property, there is no doubt to say that there are two sets of laws, one for Muslims and another for Hindus in J&K.He also sought immediate recovery of Azra Mahajabeen, a 22 year old student hailing from Poonch, kidnapped by a Sikh youth in Punjab on 5th of this month.Er Rasheed asked government to take notice of hundred of beggars, who have entered Kashmir and have made life of common people hell.Er Rasheed said, “There is no record available with the police or the government that where from do these suspicious families come and what is their real purpose? Government must send them back to their native places, as there is every chance that criminal elements make their entry into Kashmir for the want of their proper verification and investigation.” (KNS)
