North Kashmir areas observe shutdown against militant killings

All shops, business establishments closed

A spontaneous shutdown is being observed in north Kashmir areas on Saturday to mourn the death of two militants who were killed in an encounter that raged between forces and militants in Bomai village of Sopore on Friday.All shops and other business establishments are closed in several areas of north Kashmir including Hyderbagh, Pattan, Palhallan, Goshbugh, Chrandrahama and Wussan village located near the Srinagar-Baramulla highway, reports said.Two militants were killed in the gunfight on Friday that lasted for several hours in Bonmai village in north Kashmir’s Baramullah district of Sopore area.The militants were identified as Altaf Ahmad Mir of Gundbrath, Sopore and Imtiyaz Ahmad of Wusan, Bandipora.
