Virbhadra Singh urges to donate land for construction of roads generously

Approves Health Sub Centre at Bohal,Inaugurates PHCs Gumma and Naura-Barua

Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today urged the people to donate land generously for construction of roads and other developmental projects so that the pace of the development could be further accelerated and the state could march ahead fast on the path of progress and economic growth. He said despite making provision of adequate funds, various important projects were lying pending due to non-availability of land adding that people should willingly come forward to donate land so that they could also avail the benefits of development.He was addressing a public meeting at Kupvi in Chopal constituency of Shimla district.Shri Virbhadra Singh said that despite tough topographical conditions, Himachal Pradesh had achieved new heights of progress and the state was much ahead in various sectors as compared to other states, the credit for which goes to the hard working and honest people of the state. He said the government was working with a motto of “development and complete development” and it was being ensured that benefit of development reaches every section of the society.

He said the State Government had taken strong steps to protect the green cover of the State and it was with this view that despite opposition from various corners, he took a decision long back to stop using wooden boxes for packaging of apples and other fruits. He urged the people to come forward for preservation of the environment by protecting the wild life and green cover.The Chief Minister said that Chopal constituency was no more a backward area and it had progressed in every sphere and most of the facilities had been made available in this constituency. The present government had opened a number of offices, educational and health institutes in the constituency and special emphasis had been given to connect the left out villages with the road facility.He dedicated and laid the foundation stones of 48 development projects worth over Rs. 150 crore during his two-day visit to the constituency, which is a record itself. Despite heavy showers, the Chief Minister met the people assembled at various places and listened to their demands and also directed the authorities to redress their issues at the earliest.

He inaugurated the newly opened Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Gumma and PHC Naura-Barua, besides inaugurating up-gradation of PHC Kupvi to Community Health Centre. He laid foundation stone of PHC building Naura-Barua and CHC building at Kupvi besides Science Block of GSSS Kupvi and roads from Naura to Kulag, from Tran to Banah and Doba to Lohandhar-Sumatra. He also laid foundation of road from Rohaan to Baur.The Chief Minister announced construction of Rohan-Bohal road in Bohal gram panchayat. He said survey would be conducted by the State Cooperative Bank to explore the possibilities of opening of a bank branch at Gumma. He also approved to open Health Sub-Centre at Bohal.He announced up-gradation of Rohana, Bhadga, Antrawali, Rohandhar to government middle schools, opening of new government primary schools at Jalori, Shirga, Bathewari, Ashadhar and Daiya and up-gradation of Gnakhar and Bhandora schools to high schools and Dusari to senior secondary schools besides announcing to make GSSS Kupari as Model School.

He also gave approval in principle to open BDO office at Kupvi for which the matter would be taken up with the concerned authorities.The Chief Minister announced financial assistance of Rs. 25 lakh for construction of stadium at Shirgul Devta temple, Kupvi.MLA Shri Balbeer Verma said Kupvi area had witnessed unprecedented development in last three and a half years. He said that the Nerwa and Chopal hospitals had been upgraded and PHC Kupvi had also been given the status of Community Health Centre besides opening of Police Station. He said funds had also been released to metal the roads and starting new drinking water schemes in the area.Chairman, H.P Marketing Board Dr. Subhash Manglate thanked the Chief Minister for his visit to the constituency and dedicating and laying foundation stones of developmental projects worth crores. He also thanked for opening Tehsil office at Kupvi to benefit the people of the adjoining remote areas. Secretary, HPCC Shri Rajneesh Kimta also spoke on the occasion.Pradhan, Gram Panchayat Kupvi Shri Chajju Ram placed the demands of the area before the Chief Minister.
