Minister for Education, Naeem Akthar, today said the Government provides every possible support to the language newspapers in the State and has reduced the minimum paid circulation of newspapers with an aim to promote these newspapers.Responding to a question of Firdous Ahmad Tak, the Minister said the language newspapers in Urdu, Hindi, Dogri, Kashmiri, Ladakhi or any other recognized language should have minimum paid circulation of 500 copies per publishing day for being considered eligible for empanelment while English newspapers should have circulation of 1000 copies per publishing day.The Minister said five stringers (translators) in Urdu and Hindi have been engaged to provide the translated version of the Government press releases to the language newspapers of the State.
