Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Mr. Abdul Haq today informed the House that BRGF scheme has been closed by the Government of India during the last financial year. The Minister said the completion of ongoing works under the scheme, if any, would be taken up by the concerned departments out of their own allocations under district sector. Replying to a question by Mr. Ajaz Ahmed Khan, the Minister said 498 works were taken up in 11 blocks of Ramban district under BRGF from 2009-10 to 2014-15. He said 353 works have been completed and 145 works were still undergoing construction during 2014-15 in these blocks.The Minister said Rs. 26.39 crore were released for execution of these works against which Rs. 15.82 crore were utilized. He said Rs. 4.89 crore are required for completion of remaining works.
