District Development Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Aijaz today convened a high level meeting at Ramban and reviewed the arrangements made for the ensuing smooth conduct of Amarnath Yatra 2016.SSP Randeep Kumar, ADC, Babu Ram, ACR, Vevaik Puri, CPO, Parshotam Kumar, SDMs, Deputy Director F&E Services, Xens PWD, PHE, Dy.SP Traffic Kameshwar Puri representatives of Langer organizations, National Highway Authorities of India, were present in the meeting.During the meeting, the DDC directed langer organizations to follow the standard operating procedures to ensure smooth service in langer areas alongwith installation of CCTV cameras at the Langer sites, hygienic quality of eatables , adequate sanitation and fire safety arrangements at the sites. He further impressed upon them to provide Life Insurance cover to their Sewadars (workers) besides ensuring prohibition of polythene bags, tobacco, gutkha and liquor in langers areas.He directed representatives of NHAI to display the sign boards of important contact numbers and information along the National highway for the convenience of pilgrims.
The DDC directed Xen PWD to prepare temporary toilets at langer sites and designated yatra accommodation sites while Xen PHE was directed to arrange sufficient drinking water supply alongwith water tankers round the clock at langer sites whereas PDD was directed to arrange power supply.The concerned Police officers and Langer organizations were instructed to act promptly for avoiding any traffic jam in the area which may cause discomfort to the pilgrims. The DDC also reviewed security and traffic arrangements made enroute NHA1. SSP Ramban briefed the meeting and assured that adequate security arrangements have been made whereas Dy. SP Traffic also apprised the chair about regulation of traffic during Yatra. He also directed all the essential departments to maintain close coordination with Yatra control room for providing timely services to the Yatris.
