India to provide Ghana with more lines of credit: Pranab Mukherjee

India is prepared to provide Ghana with more lines of credit to assist in the country's development, President Pranab Mukherjee, on a two-day visit here, said on Monday.Mukherjee, who arrived on Sunday, said that economic cooperation between Ghana and India has grown steadily and added that bilateral trade should move from the present level of $3 billion to $5 billion by 2020.President Mukherjee said Ghana has successfully utilized its India Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) slots and said, it has been decided to increase it to 300 from the current level of 250.President John Mahama said India continues to inspire Ghana and that every effort would be made to cooperate more with India.He said India is the second largest investor in Ghana with 700 registered companies.Later, the two countries signed three agreements to waive visas for diplomatic and official passport holders, an MOU for the Indian Foreign Affairs Institute to help build the capacity of the foreign ministry staff of Ghana and the establishment of a Ghana-India joint commission.President Mukherjee also addressed a joint Ghana-India Business Forum.The two-day visit is part of a three nation African tour which will take him to Cote d'Ivoire and Namibia.Earlier, condemning the massacre in Orlando, Florida, President Mukherjee said every act of terrorism must be condemned and asked the international community to work together to fight international terrorism."We must not distinguish between good and bad terrorism because cross border terror has no respect for anything."
