Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today reviewed the arrangements for the observance of state level function to mark the 300th Martyrdom anniversary of legendary Sikh warrior Baba Banda Singh Bahadur at Sri Fatehgarh Sahib on June 26.Presiding over a high level meeting with the party leaders of SAD-BJP and members of the SGPC from districts of Ludhiana, Ropar, Patiala, Fatehgarh Sahib, Mohali and Sangrur to ensure maximum participation of the people in this mega event to be held in the stadium of Mata Gujari College, the Chief Minister asked them to make all out efforts to motivate the people from their region to pay homage to the iconic Sikh warrior, who established First ‘Khalsa Raj’ in 1710. Mr. Badal said such memorable events were of paramount significance as these served as a vital link to connect our youth with rich legacy and glorious historical past.

The Chief Minister constituted a four member committee comprising Member Parliament from Sri Anandpur Sahib Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra, Member Rajya Sabha Mr. Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, Education Minister Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema and Technical Education & Industrial Training Minister Mr. Madan Mohan Mittal to finalize the modalities for logistics like transportation, food and refreshment for the people who were likely to attend the function. He also asked these leaders to convene separate meetings in their districts to discuss the nitty-gritty of preparations required to organize the final function in a smooth and hassle free manner.Mr. Badal also asked these leaders to mobilize the people of nearby districts of Mohali, Ropar and Fatehgarh Sahib to witness the laser show based on the life and philosophy of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur at Baba Banda Singh Bahadur War Memorial at Chappar Chiri (Mohali) on June 25 from 7 PM to 8 PM.

Prominent amongst others who attended the meeting included; Cabinet Ministers Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema and Mr. Madan Mohan Mittal, Member Parliament Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra, Member Rajya Sabha Mr. Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, former SGPC President and Chairman Punjab State Backward Classes Commission Prof. Kirpal Singh Badungar and Special Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. KJS Cheema. Apart from these several senior leaders, party workers of SAD-BJP and members of SGPC also participated in the meeting.
