Female Multipurpose Health Workers (FMPHW) working in the state’s health department on permanent basis alleged that no salary has been paid to them from over 8 months making their life miserable and pushing their families to starvation.Scores of FMPH Workers from South Kashmir’s Shopian district staged a protest in Press Enclave here. They castigated apathetic attitude of the state government towards their plight and claimed that the FMPHWs have not been paid their salaries for 8 months making them and their families to suffer.“The problem is persistent for several years. No permanent solution for it has been found till date and the FMPHWs continue to suffer,” the protesting workers told CNS.“Our families are starving and children are shown door from schools as we fail to pay their monthly school fee,” they said.Minister for Health Bali Baghat when contacted said that he will ensure these permanent employees get salary on monthly basis. “We will release their pending salaries,” he said adding that he was unaware about the issue.
